“ If you want a truly satisfying home cooked breakfast go to the Soda Chef on North Street in Pittsfield. It may not look like much from the outside, but this is an authentically retro old school diner with bar stools at the counter and also a few tables available for sitting at. All of the food is freshly prepared to order by George. The eggs were amazingly fresh and so tasty! Their home fries can be made with or without onions, as you prefer, and I opted for the onions. These were definitely the BEST home fries I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I also ordered bacon, which they cooked to order. Asking if I wanted it soft, medium, crispy or extra crispy. My husband had the sausage which was also delicious. Patty waited on us and she was so nice and really attentive to us. We haven't had a chance to have lunch there, but I have no doubt it will be just as satisfying! ”

“ The place is one of my all time favorite to visit. The atmosphere is amazing. People are super friendly and it’s nice to see everyone talking to each other and a real connection. The food was great and I would travel miles to come back if I’m ever in the area again. It’s a classic place with an old school register and pay cash only. Also it was very reasonably priced. I was up visiting from Florida my step Dad who is in a nursing home. It was a pleasure and joy taking a break to eat here. ”
